Many of our venues are located inside this historic former amusement park turned arts and cultural center!

Getting to Glen Echo Park:

Driving: Lots of parking is available in the lot about a quarter mile away.

Public Transportation: Combination of Metro & bus or Metro & ride share. See the Route 29 bus schedule. Note that buses stop running before the end of our dances. (We provide a ride board to coordinate carpools.) You can also take Metro to Friendship Heights or Bethesda stations and call a ride service app. (Check station sites for last train times, roughly 12:45am).

Food options: Food and alcohol can be found at the Praline Cafe in the Spanish Ballroom building, The Irish Inn a few minutes walk down the street, or 7-11 (across the street).

Bumper Car Pavilion at Glen Echo

Located here: Thursday, May 22 “Back Room Blues” weekly dance and Friday, May 23 main dance.

As you guessed, this used to be a bumper car arena, built in 1923. Cute outdoor space with wood floors and open sides. Picnic tables nearby.

Bathrooms are nearby in the Spanish Ballroom or in the Carriage House just on the far side of the carousel from the Bumper Car Pavilion. An outdoor drinking water fountain is on the way from the Bumper Car Pavilion to the Spanish Ballroom, on the edge of the picnic area.

Spanish Ballroom at Glen Echo

Located here: Friday, May 22 late night dance, Saturday, May 23 main and late night dances.

Glamorous ballroom in a former amusement park, now a National Historic Site. These wooden floorboards have hosted over 90 years of dancers, and they’re as smooth and buttery as ever.

Bathrooms are off the ballroom, to the right of the lobby as you come in. Water fountain is just past the bathrooms. Ramp is to the left of the main doors. The Ballroom has no heat or air conditioning.

Bannockburn Community Clubhouse (near Glen Echo)

Located here: Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24 afternoon picnics.

This former golf club turned community gathering space offers beautiful outdoor space for picnicking and an indoor clubhouse.

The club is located in a residential area and street parking is extremely limited. Please meet up with friends at Glen Echo and carpool from there!

Note: You may bring your own food, but alcohol will not be allowed at Bannockburn.

Rock Creek Park, Washington DC

Located here: Monday daytime wrap party.

Rock Creek Park is the gem of our nation’s capital. This 1,754 acre city park was officially authorized in 1890, making it the third national park to be designated by the federal government! An oasis for residents of DC, it’s a great place to hike, picnic, and more.

More specific picnic location to be announced later on!
