Capital Blues offers a blues dance every week on Thursday at 9 pm (beginner lesson at 8:15) in the Back Room at Glen Echo Park. $8 covers both the beginner lesson and the dance.

It’s not very often you get two (2!) nationally-respected blues dance instructors in the same room at your regular weekly dance, but here we are.
On Thursday, December 1, Mike Legenthal and Dan Repsch will be teaching the beginner lesson and sharing the DJ booth at Back Room Blues. This is a rare opportunity to learn from the greats for just $8, our regular weekly price. Happy holidays.

Because dance is all about partnership, we’re teaming up with DC Lindy Exchange (DCLX) to bring you a late night blues dance on the night of December 10 (technically, the wee hours of December 11) after the swing dance with Chelsea Reed and the Fairweather Five.
The details:
Saturday, December 10 / Sunday, December 11
Location: Back Room at Glen Echo Park
Swing dance with Chelsea Reed and the Fairweather Five: 8 p.m. – 12 a.m.
Blues dance with DJ Boris Glebov: 12:30 a.m. – 2:30 a.m.
The blues late night is $8 with pre-registration, $10 at the door.

Star blues dance instructor Dan Repsch is coming to D.C. (well, to the Alma Dance Studio in Rockville) on Sunday, Nov. 20, and you’re invited.
Dan is offering two very cool classes on one day: Flowing Jazz Momentum and Texturing Isolations. Check out the Workshops page for more info.
As usual, Thursday dances continue in the Back Room at Glen Echo. All’s right with the world.
You may remember blues dancing was happening in the Bumper Car Pavilion over October, but as of November and onwards we’re back in the Back Room at Glen Echo Park, just off the Spanish Ballroom.
