Steven Watkins

Capital Blues is very excited to bring the legend that is Dr. Feelgood to DC back to Red Hot 2019! Steven, a.k.a. Dr. Feelgood originally hails from NYC but now calls Oakland home! He started dancing in 1998, and began his Blues DJing career at his other adoptive home – St. Louis’ Cheap Thrills 2004. Since moving to the Bay Area in 2005, your Dr. Feelgood has been thrilled to be spreading his love for the blues with a warm mixture of smooth, gritty, sultry, in-your-bones, hot skirt music. Dr. Feelgood loved Red Hot 2018 so much, and was such a hit with all of you, that we just had to have him back!

Omar Myers

Omar has been collecting music for Blues, Swing, Soul, and early Rhythm and Blues since he was a lil dude. It wasn’t until after he started Lindy Hop did he decide to start getting people to dance. He began DJing in 2010 and became a regular Blues DJ in Seoul, South Korea. Since then, he has left-clicked tunes all over the world, in such locations as, Barcelona, Stockholm, and locally in the Washington DC. Currently, he is a regular Blues DJ for Backroom Blues in Washington DC and can be found DJing all over the East coast. He prefers having a rich texture of sounds to inspire movement. So expect a variety of playful Blues tunes to keep you dancing all night long!

Joey Science

Joey Science is a dweeb whose DJing style has more to do with what they want to dance to then an academic understanding of music. Since 2011, they’ve DJ’d countless local events in Chicago and Boston, and a handful of regional events such as Steel City Blues and North Star Blues. If you like jazz, country blues, Chicago blues, West Coast blues, more different jazz, tunes to do struttin’ to, tunes to funky butt with, sweet huggin’ tunes, and so much more, you’ll find something in their sets.

Andi Hansen

Andi Hansen lives and dances in Grand Rapids, Michigan, DJing there and anywhere else she can get her hands on an aux cord. Her musical comfort foods are Chicago and Delta blues, and she loves sharing those and other styles with the dance floor. Whether she’s starting the party or playing some nice chill music, her mission is to help you enjoy yourself, and maybe even find some new favorite songs.
