Friday night: Full Power Blues

For the Friday night main dance, we’ve got the DC Blues Society’s very own band, Full Power Blues! This group of awesome local musicians will be hitting the stage with delicious, soulful music for us to dance to. A couple of dancers happened to hear them last year at the DC blues festival and told us that they couldn’t stop moving as the band played, so we’re bringing the band in for Red Hot this year.

Get hooked on their sound:

Saturday night: John Németh!

John Németh has opened for Keb’ Mo’, Robert Cray, and Earl Thomas. He won the 2014 Soul Blues Male Artist award and was named the Living Blues Vocalist of the Year in 2010. And now he’ll be playing for you! Hot off his Memphis Grease tour, he’ll head up to D.C. to play some of the Best. Music. Ever.

Sunday night: Eli Cook!

We’ll be closing out on Sunday with Eli Cook, who’s been playing up and down the east coast ever since he got his start in the Virginia foothills. Here’s what our friends at Winter Blues had to say: “Sultry, bluesy, masculine, with plenty of loose coolness, Eli Cook was heavily influenced by Muddy Waters, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Mississippi John Hurt…and it shows. With his super slick slide guitar sound and a husky voice that is sexy and heartfelt, this young Virginia bluesman has opened many times for B.B. King, shared the spotlight with Johnny Winter, Shemekia Copeland, and Robert Cray, and has performed on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Eli Cook was christened ‘the best blues singer of his generation’ by All Music Guide, and has been featured in Vintage Guitar, Guitar Player, and Guitar Edge magazines.”
